Glengoyne Distillery, founded in 1833, is located near Dumgoyne, Scotland, uniquely positioned on the border between the Highlands and Lowlands. Known for its unpeated single malt Scotch whisky, Glengoyne emphasizes slow distillation and the use of air-dried barley. The distillery operates with a fascinating duality: distillation occurs in the Highlands, while maturation takes place in the Lowlands. Its whiskies are celebrated for their smooth, rich flavor profile, featuring notes of fruit, toffee, and spice.
Rosebank Distillery, situated in Falkirk, Scotland, has a rich history dating back to the 1840s. Despite its closure in 1993, Rosebank remains legendary for its triple-distilled Lowland single malt Scotch whisky, renowned for its light, floral, and delicate character. Often hailed as the “King of the Lowlands,” the distillery is now being revitalized by Ian Macleod Distillers, with a focus on restoring its historic quality and craftsmanship.
